Abstract
It is well known that the name L. S. Vigotsky is related to the formation of one of the most important scientific schools in the last time, which starts to exert an increasing influ ence on the development of the world psychological science and on the special education in particular. To understand better his work and life this article includes some notes on his personal and professional life which are characterized by his steady commi tment with science. In the vast discussion of the connection between theory and practice the ideas of this author will last ever after and today they are the scientific foundations to develop the pedagogical process on the basis of the demands of the prese nt society.
