This article is part of a research that addressed a problem related to the weaknesses in the design and implementation of the impact assessment process for the passing of primary teachers in Pinar del Río. The objective of this article is to propose an approach to the background of the process of impact assessment of the passing of primary education teachers, which will enable future stages of research. The study, which covered the period of "Perfecting the National Education System", from 1959 to the present, used a combined approach of theoretical and empirical methods typical of educational research, where historical analysis -logical and documentary analysis played a central role. In accordance with the procedural requirements of historical-logical analysis, a periodization criterion was defined, which allowed to identify three stages in the historical evolution of the object: 1959-2000, 2001-2015 and 2016-present. In addition, three key indicators were established to characterize each of these stages. As a result, a detailed study of the background of the object in its historical context was obtained. In conclusion, the need to implement a model that will improve the performance of primary education teachers is reaffirmed.
Wilmer Valle Castañeda Tomás Castillo Estrella Manuel Ismael Cruz Ordaz Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-01-13 2025-01-13 23 1 e3680 e3680 The contextualization of the teaching-learning process of General Chemistry in pedagogical professional training https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3819
Contextualizing the teaching-learning process of the General Chemistry discipline in the bachelor's degree in Chemical Education is a demand for further education in higher education, so that students prepare themselves in real situations. In the exploratory study, regularities were observed related to the use of the local context as a concrete space that allows the link between theoretical contents and the daily practical activity of teaching the subject chemistry. This article aims to propose teaching tasks for the treatment of contextualized chemical contents, based on epistemological analysis about how to conceive integrality in pedagogical vocational training, the training is designed to help prepare people for problems in their daily life and to help them solve problems at different levels of difficulty. The general method of research is taken to be materialistic dialectics, as well as the use of theoretical and empirical methods. The historical analysis, the induction-deduction and the analysis-synthesis allow us to approach the fundamentals, characteristics and main constructs related to contextualization in vocational training and didactics. The use of tools made it easier to understand the initial status and the transformation achieved after the implementation of the strategy. The validation of the methodological indications enabled their practical evaluation. This result is introduced in the first year of the course, in which significant changes are observed in the professionalization, the recognition of the various contexts that enhance training in this specialty, as well as the integrality of the trainees.
Milaidy Abreu Arencibia Adelainy Núñez Pérez Beatriz Páez Rodríguez Carlos Manuel Iglesias Pérez Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-01-13 2025-01-13 23 1 e3819 e3819 Professionalization of university students: new approaches to the course by encounter https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3967
Professionalization as a process is a requirement of social development and, as a trend, it is desirable because it guarantees higher quality in the professional performance of the teacher. Therefore, this article aims to systematize the main theoretical references of the professionalization process, in favor of the modes of action in students of the bachelor's degree in primary education in the modality Course by Encounters. A set of theoretical and empirical methods were used, which allowed to interpret from a materialistic dialectical logic the historical development that has had the process of professionalization and its contextualization in this degree, as well as substantiating the process under study. The integration of the instruments used has made it possible to identify shortcomings in the occupational behavior of these students, which prevent them from solving the vocational problems inherent in their teaching activity in educational institutions. The main results are the articulating character of the professionalization process in students of the bachelor's degree in Primary Education in the Course for Encounters, based on a more integral preparation, with attention to diversity and increasingly inclusive practices. Accordingly, the Universidad Bolivariana del Ecuador uses Moodle as a virtual environment, but does not have a specific space for students' emotional self-regulation. Therefore, the following general objective was proposed: to design an emotional self-regulation strategy that favors academic performance in virtual learning environments for students of the Master's in Education. Consequently, a mixed research was carried out, combining elements of quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research involved surveys to measure emotional self-regulation and academic performance of students in the virtual learning environment. Meanwhile, the qualitative research included interviews with teachers and experts to understand experiences and challenges. The population was 1,650 students, selecting a non-probabilistic sample of 52 students from the master's degree. The categories used were emotional self-regulation and academic performance, subdivided into dimensions such as emotional state and adopted strategies. Scales and open questions were considered to measure the categories. The results included a positive relationship between emotional self-regulation and academic performance. Therefore, a strategy was generated for the inclusion of a section in the subjects, focused on emotional self-regulation in virtual learning environments, to improve the academic performance and emotional well-being of the master's students. The importance of validating the proposed strategy through feedback from experts was highlighted.
Diana Fernanda Carchipulla Choco María Eufemia Benítez Herrera María Lucía Campoverde Cárdenas Hendy Maier Pérez Barrera Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-02-17 2025-02-17 23 1 e3721 e3721 Methodology for career orientation toward basic science careers in junior high education https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3759
Career orientation in senior high education plays a vital role in young people´s training, by providing students with the necessary tools to make decisions about their future, which can have a positive impact on their professional satisfaction and success. Creativity does not only involve generating original ideas, but is related to skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and intrinsic motivation, which contribute positively to academic performance. Therefore, it is important to foster creative environments in education that motivate students to investigate, explore, and delve deeper into their learning. This work seeks to explore the relationship between creativity and academic performance in Dominican university students, a topic that has been little researched in the Dominican Republic. The study sought to determine a correlation between these variables through an exhaustive bibliographic review and a qualitative approach methodology and non-experimental design, with a cross-sectional and documentary type. The evidence found showed that, although over the years there has not been a consensus on the relationship between academic performance and creativity, some current research indicates a positive correlation between both variables. Therefore, a design was proposed to test this hypothesis by studying a sample of students from various universities in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, selected equally between men and women; and creativity was measured through a creative intelligence test and academic performance through the cumulative academic index. It is expected to obtain significant results that could influence the country's education, promoting strategies that foster creativity as a key to academic success.
Katherin Rodríguez Jáquez Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-02-17 2025-02-17 23 1 e3924 e3924 Treatment of individual differences in the Physical Education class. One of the fields of knowledge associated with the promotion of this comprehensiveness is educational guidance, which is considered a discipline and a practice whose center is the relationship of professional help. In this sense, the review of the literature and the ethnographic analysis carried out showed multiple shortcomings that limit the implementation of educational guidance, which is exacerbated by incorporating the category of life project, another of the conceptual pillars of comprehensive development. In order to mitigate these limitations, the objective of this article is to propose a theoretical model of the configuration of developmental life projects from educational guidance. The research was carried out based on the socioconstructivist approach and combined two qualitative designs: ethnography and thematic analysis. As a result, a model is proposed consisting of three subsystems and nine subprocesses that promote the integration of socio-educational agents in the guiding action and the integration of the life project as a category of higher education. It is concluded that the proposal is viable and transferable to multiple contexts, although it demands an adequate prior evaluation and diagnosis process to clarify the conditions of its introduction and make the pertinent adaptations.
Alfredo Javier Pérez Gamboa Mario Mitsuo Bueno Fernández María Teresa de Jesús de la Paz Rosales Víctor Hugo González Torres Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-02-18 2025-02-18 23 1 e4107 e4107 Design of an assessment task for self-regulated learning of education professionals https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3968
The development of self-regulated learning is crucial for education professionals, as it allows educators to reflect on their own teaching, identify areas for improvement, and adapt their methods to meet the needs of students. In addition, empirical methods were used, such as documentary analysis, interviews and observation of workshops on appreciation and creation of Artistic Culture, which allowed us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of teachers in this area, as well as to confirm that the improvement actions aimed at these teachers to prevent this type of behavior in pre-university education are still insufficient, since they do not address all the deficiencies detected. Hence, the need to prepare them, since this training is essential to increase their professional pedagogical competence.
Osmany Brown Sánchez Danyer Martin Ramos Melva Luisa Rivero Rivero Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-03-08 2025-03-08 23 1 e4012 e4012 Leadership skills in public educational institutions in Lima Norte, Peru, 2024 https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/4072
Current changes and transformations require that managers of regular basic education institutions strengthen essential skills to effectively manage teams and organizations, especially in challenging environments. This article presents the results of a research that addressed the deficiencies in communication, leadership and teamwork skills in North Lima. The objective was to socialize the levels of management skills in public educational institutions in North Lima, Peru, in 2024, which will allow progress in future stages of the research. The study, with a quantitative approach and non-experimental design, included one hundred and twenty teachers from UGEL 02 and 04, selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. An online survey with 25 items on a Likert-type ordinal scale was applied. The results revealed a good level of management skills. Personal skills were the most highly valued, followed by group, interpersonal and specific communication skills. However, the latter showed the lowest performance, suggesting significant differences between the dimensions of management skills. In conclusion, it is essential to strengthen all dimensions of management skills, as they directly impact the quality of the educational service. Institutions must focus on developing these competencies to ensure a more efficient and beneficial teaching-learning process for regular basic education students.
Karen del Pilar Zevallos Delgado Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-03-11 2025-03-11 23 1 e4072 e4072 Experiential learning in postgraduate training: a didactic strategy https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3874
Experiential learning allows for the development of personality from the cognitive, affective and attitudinal aspects, based on the role of experience, which is important both in undergraduate and graduate levels, in university education. For this reason, the objective of this article was to socialize a didactic strategy based on experiential learning as a recursive method in postgraduate training for the preparation of collaborating teachers of the Sucre Mission, in the Sucre State of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Theoretical methods such as historical-logical, inductive-deductive, analysis-synthesis, modeling, systems approach, empirical (participant observation, documentary review and consultation of specialists and mathematical statisticians) were used. The results of the diagnosis demonstrated inefficient development of experiential learning, poor use of the pedagogical experience of teachers and, therefore, poor connection of theory and practice, a product of the inadequate didactic instrumentation of experiential learning in postgraduate studies. The findings mentioned above allowed us to design a teaching strategy with a structure based on the Kolb cycle; its teaching structure has the following parts: cognitive imbalance, experiential interaction, Theorization, production, and metacognitive closure. The proposal was validated by specialist consultation, which demonstrated its relevance and feasibility, with all aspects evaluated as highly appropriate and appropriate. Experiential learning constituted a path to understanding and transforming reality from the combined perspective of individualization and socialization, through the interaction of theoretical and practical levels, supported by the subject's experiences.
Omar Silva Ramos Marlié Martínez Llano Liliana Margarita Martínez Hernández Yadyra de la Caridad Piñera Concepción Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-03-13 2025-03-13 23 1 e3874 e3874 Theoretical-methodological foundations of doctoral training https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/4151 Maricela María González Pérez Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-02-19 2025-02-19 23 1 e4151 e4151 Rethinking scientific writing in the age of artificial intelligence https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/4129 Yudit Rovira Álvarez Moraima Pérez Barrera Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-01-27 2025-01-27 23 1 e4129 e4129 Design Thinking as an educational strategy to promote entrepreneurship in bachelor's students https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3962
In the educational field, there is evidence of the presence of subjects related to the development of capacities and skills that will be useful to students in the future, as is the case of the Entrepreneurship and Management subject, which proves to be a subject that allows students, through their creativity, to generate innovative ideas to apply them in the future. However, as it is a subject where special emphasis is placed on the generation of new ideas, the search for new work methodologies is imperative, one of them being Design Thinking. Therefore, the objective of the article is to describe how the Design Thinking strategy has been implemented to develop entrepreneurship skills in high school students. For the development of the work, a qualitative approach has been used, accompanied by a PRISMA methodology, where the research sample corresponds to twenty-five scientific studies that demonstrate the use of Design Thinking. Thinking in the subject of Entrepreneurship and Management. The results show that the use of Design Thinking is evident in the creation of prototypes, business profiles, web pages and other entrepreneurial initiatives that benefit students. It is concluded that the successful implementation of Design Thinking underscores the importance of adopting innovative and student-centered pedagogical approaches, since, by providing practical and meaningful learning experiences, it stimulates creativity, curiosity and innovation.
Antony Joel Nivela Álava Claudia Selene Tapia Ruelas Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-01-17 2025-01-17 23 1 e3962 e3962 Epistemological support of the process of emotional education of students of Stomatology https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/3887
The results of the epistemological analysis carried out from July to December 2023 are presented, as part of the research related to the formation of the emotional regulation competence in Stomatology students at the beginning of clinical practice. The objective was to epistemologically characterize the emotional education process of Stomatology students, with emphasis on the emotional regulation competence in clinical practice. To carry out this work, the following theoretical methods were used: analysis and synthesis, historical-logical and induction-deduction. Within the empirical level, documentary analysis was used; all of them allowed the study of the emotional education process of Stomatology students, with emphasis on the emotional regulation competence in clinical practice. The following categories were essentially valued: emotional education, competence, emotional competence, emotional regulation and training by competence. In this sense, the contributions are justified, from the classics to the contemporary ones. The theoretical deficiencies in the emotional education process were revealed as an epistemic void, given the insufficient systematization and theoretical-methodological support related to the treatment of emotional competencies, specifically emotional regulation in Stomatology students, which limits efficient performance in clinical practice.
Norys Tan Suárez Mayelin Soler Herrera Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-01-30 2025-01-30 23 1 e3887 e3887 A formative perspective from a systematic review on police education in Colombia https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/4103
Given the social demands associated with an effective police service that guarantees the satisfaction of one of the basic needs of human beings, the field of study of education in police forces is a topic of common interest for some researchers, who seek to solve a research idea oriented to police education through a disciplinary and methodological process. Thus, this study aimed to identify and analyze the literature oriented to epistemic, curricular and pedagogical components that involve police education in Colombia. A qualitative research approach was proposed, from a systematic review, which would allow compiling the research and, subsequently, analyzing it from seven variables: pedagogical model, competencies, strategies, curriculum, special regime, epistemology and differential approach. It was found that external research focused on the analysis of the pedagogical model, competencies, pedagogical strategies, curriculum, special regime, epistemological support and differential approach. It was also found that this is a topic of great interest, given the volume of research carried out; even so, it is important to delve deeper into the proposed topics. Likewise, it was detected that there are limitations in the results, due to the complexity of collecting information in an open manner, as well as research trends and knowledge gaps.
Martha Lucia Gallego Betancourth Ricardo Pachón Gutiérrez Jennifer Ortiz Barrios Manuel Fernando González Cuevas Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-02-19 2025-02-19 23 1 e4103 e4103 Integration of university substantive processes teaching-research-extension: informed reflections https://mendive.upr.edu.cu/index.php/MendiveUPR/article/view/4050
The importance of integration between the substantive processes of the university, as a resource for bringing together academia and social practice, is becoming more evident every day due to the benefits it brings, both for the training of competent professionals and for solving problems in the context of interaction of Higher Education institutions. The objective of this article is to reflect on the teaching-research-extension triad in terms of how the relationships between them are addressed in scientific literature, specifically in relation to their integration. To achieve this, the method of scientific literature review was used, supported by its techniques: source selection, reading and recording, hypothesis formulation, identification of patterns, trends and relationships between the sources of consultation, theoretical verification of hypotheses, conclusions and contribution or enrichment of the theory. The main results show an undeclared tendency to magnify teaching (in person or online), to the detriment of the rest of the substantive processes, as well as the lack of rigor in the application of contextualized research, which encourages the detection of the causes of the problems being studied and the proposal of pertinent solutions. It is concluded that the integration between the teaching-research-extension processes is in the discourse of most of the educational models that are currently applied, but it is not a reality achieved in the daily practice of many Higher Education institutions.
Débora Mainegra Fernández Nuvia Liseth Estrada Méndez Aydeé Rivera de Parada Ana Iris Peña Ortiz Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2025-02-20 2025-02-20 23 1 e4050 e4050
