Abstract

Given the diversity of the objectives of the programming courses in the Cuban educational system and the training of teachers, it is not easy to decide the language to be used in each case. The intention of this article is to bring to debate to our context a trend that has been growing in the last decade: Python as a first programming language. The aim of this study is to compile some inter national experiences in the use of Python in introductory programming courses, also analyzing their advantages and disadvantages.
