The interactive and reflexive pedagogical workshop for the professional formation and upgrading of language teachers

Abstract
Introduction: comprises an analysis about the directions followed in the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Pinar del Rio making use of the pedagogical workshops as an educational form that allows the application of contemporary pedagogic approaches and tendencies with their respective grounds as opposed to the already traditional forms.
Objective: To reveal the experiences of the authors in the conception and instrumentation of the pedagogical workshop, from the reflection and the social interaction, as a way of improving the quality of the initial formation and the overcoming of foreign language teachers in the University of Pinar del Rio.
Methods: of theempiric level, there was used: experimentation, observation, surveys, interviews, and techniques of self-report and self-evaluation. In the theoretical level, different methods were used for the elaboration of the didactic materials, they were: the historical-logical, the systemic, and modeling.
Results: of the authors´ experiences were included in the use of the pedagogical workshop based on reflection and social interaction, their conception, methodology of application and the outcomes in terms of social and personal impact.
Conclusions: aspect, it was included that this workshop type accomplishes the objectives for which it has been conceived since it has shown that it offers opportunities so that the participants process input information and solve problems related with the profession, at the same time that the participants practice and use the language naturally and spontaneously, creating in this way a true state of linguistic sensibility. Equally, it contributes to the formation of values by means of the reflection and the social interaction with others, the development of thought, the increase of culture and most of all, a culture of learning is acquired.
