Abstract
This article offers a didactic strategy in order to develop the oral skill in the students of English General Course at Language Schools in Pinar del Rio province. It includes procedures, guidelines, and a set of communicative tasks. This strategy faces the methodological problem related to the emphasis on the linguistic competence, disregarding the communicative competence as the main goal. This strategy is put into practice through the methodological work carried out by the provincial educational staff.
