The new educational improvement in Cuba intends to raise the learning of future generations in a contextualized way and aimed at placing them at the level of their time, citing Martí.

In particular, entry into the upper middle level occurs at a crucial moment in the student's life, it is the period of transition from adolescence to youth. Therefore, to stimulate and direct said formation , with an integral approach , through the extension, application and deepening of the contents and in the scientific-research activity, in correspondence with the patriotic and humanistic ideals of the Cuban socialist society in its prosperous development and sustainable, expressed in their ways of feeling, thinking, acting, according to their level of development and individual particularities, interests and social needs, which allows them to have a scientific conception of the world by assuming an independent and responsible role in behavior and Your life project, today is our mission as educators.

Thus, the subject Artistic Culture appears. It closes the cycle of study of the manifestations of art for each educational level. In this sense, the student is already able to study these manifestations and be able to appreciate the works, object of study, going through their levels (contextual, interpretative and compositional); in an integrated way.

As a response to the need to contribute to the teaching of the subject SURGE book text of Artistic Culture for tenth grade, developed by professors at the University of Pinar de Rio and Enrique José Varona Pedagogical University. Leads on this book a "Words to students in upper secondary education", soft with a lot of poetry, to suggest the content of the same and its structure, with clear ideas and guidance s , motivating not only students, but also to the teachers.

Subsequently, it offers preliminary information on the history, criticism and theory of art in which it can deepen according to your interests. This allows us to perceive how these transit processes from individual creation to collective creation, will undermine in real terms the ancient conceptions of art that assume it as the result of the unique and unrepeatable genius of exceptional and almost supernatural individuals.

Thus begins an approach to artistic culture and its historical evolution governed by the history of universal art and gradually of Latin American and Cuban art, which is specified in the introduction and in chapters 1 and 2. The proposal ends with chapters three and 4 relating to the enjoyment of art in school, family and community, and what alternatives and can be used to make s or leisure, a space conducive to a comprehensive training without giving up wholesome entertainment and high.

It is structured in sections or explanatory tables that constitute a pleasant proposal to investigate in more detail the content. As sight constitutes a key sense for the acquisition and appreciation of art, a catalog of figures for this purpose accompanies the text. This compendium must be taken into account because it complements the contents addressed in the different chapters and facilitates quick access to information.

The Martian exergues deliberately head the chapters and epigraphs according to the importance of the work of the Aposthol in Cuban education. For both, you should try to find is the relationship between the sentence and the content martiana as an exercise logical thinking that l and allow you to understand the local culture in correspondence with the most universal of art.

For greater satisfaction of your intellectual concerns, a glossary is proposed with terms that have not been treated in the epigraphs of the book, that is, collateral concepts that will allow an approximation to consubstantial subjects of the subject.

Challenges and perspectives has the teaching of Artistic Culture today. The use of this valuable textbook provides enough information for the study of artistic culture, amidst a context of chaos and confusion in the world, where the danger of modern barbarism increasingly threatens the spirituality and creation of man, depending on beautify life.
